About Us
The Democrats of Jefferson County have three organizations.
The Jefferson County Democratic Executive Committee (JCDEC) is the official governing body of the Democrats in our county. Empowered by the WV State Code, JCDEC is responsible for speaking for the party, recruiting candidates, communicating with Democrats in each of the five districts, and working with the state and national Democratic Parties.
The Jefferson County Democratic Association (JCDA) is a membership-based organization open to all Democrats. The JCDA acts as the boots on the ground, offering tangible support to Democratic candidates, representing the Party at various fairs and festivals, and drums up support for the party’s efforts. To join the JCDA, contact: John Doyle, President, rjohndoyle@comcast.net.
The Jefferson County Democratic Women’s Club (JCDWC) is part of the Federation of Democratic Women, founded in 1971. Focusing on educational programming, strategic planning, and candidate recruitment, the JCDWC is a membership-based organization open to Democratic women and men, as well as independent voters. To join the JCDWC, contact: Lanae Johnson, President, lanae10640@gmail.com.
The Eastern Panhandle Young Democrats (EPYD) is currently in the process of being reorganized and rechartered. If you are interested in being involved, please contact West Virginia Young Democrats President Jacob Hively at jacobhivelywv@gmail.com.
